haha! nice, is a pity I never had the chance to enjoy splattoon but their design was very PRRRRRAH!, one little observation, the face looks kinda flat, I suggest practicing and aplying figure drawing more often! nevertheless, looks very nice

I think I know why the face is a bit flat. I intended this to be something simple, plain colors cell shaded and personal use... Nothing like how it turned out.

I might as well consider doing warmup doodles following your tip, maybe that can help me get volume better?
